•  I am under 19. Can I sign up as a student member?

No. If you are a minor, your parent or legal guardian should sign up as a parent member and search for a tutor on your behalf. We are very strict about this age limit to ensure our user safety.

•  Should I use my real name and upload my personal photo?

Yes and No. Yes, it is recommended, because students/parents highly appreciate your enthusiasm and confidence, but No, there is no obligation. However, tutors who opt to use their real name and a photo tend to find students faster.

•  Does my profile get posted immediately after I sign up?

No. We review your profile before we post it onto the system. If approved, your profile will be posted within 24 hours.

•  I don’t mind people contacting me directly. Can I disclose my contact information in the Self-Intro Box?

Yes. However, you may do so at your own risk. See our Terms of Use for our safety policy.

•  What is the 1-hour free lesson?

Some tutors offer a 1-hour free lesson to meet up with a student or a parent and discuss the needs and expectations. It is 100% up to tutors whether or not to offer it.

•  Do you screen members?

No. MeetTutotrs.com is a user-driven online community for individual tutors, passionate students and enthusiastic parents. Our goal is to create a community for people to meet and facilitate educational and cultural exchanges.

Yes. Sign up as a company member and look to hire new teachers or promote your organization to students and parents.

Student/parent members can rate a tutor based on a 5-point scale and leave a comment. If you are a tutor, this helps to build your reputation in this community and get referrals. If you are a student/parent member, this works as a point of reference in searching for the most effective tutor.

messaging

 •  Would my email address be displayed?

Yes. A student can send a message not only to a tutor, but also to another student.
